Driving in rainy season is very risky. Most of the accidents are occurred while driving during rainy season because of wet roads and low visibility, which worsen traffic conditions.

Here are some tips to be considered while driving during rainy season:

#. Think carefully before driving in rainy season

Judge yourself, if you are confident enough to drive in the slippery road or not. Prevention is always better than cure. Drivers need to stay alert and should have a lot of experience. So, think before you go.

#. Wait for weather to get improve

You can postpone your trip if you fell uncomfortable driving in the rain and wait until the whether improves before driving. If driving in wet conditions is not necessary, there is no reason to put yourself in danger.

#. Double Check Your Car’s Equipment

Before encountering rainy weather, make sure that your car’s equipment is in working order. Check each parts of your vehicle to make sure that they will work efficiently when they are needed.

#. Turn on your Headlights

Turning on your vehicle’s headlights will increase both, other driver’s ability to see your vehicle on the road and your own visibility.

#. Avoid Heavy Braking during rainy season

Heavy Braking can slip your vehicle’s tyre on the road and can cause an accident.

#. Use Your Windshield Wipers for big vehicles

Windshield wiper speed is adjustable to clear moisture from the glass in a heavy downpour or in a light mist.

Maintaining a distance of several vehicle lengths between your vehicle and other vehicles can help you in minimizing minor or major accidents.

While raining, you may find that your vehicle’s windows become foggy .Ventilation system can reduce this type of fog that develops on the interior of your windows and windshield.

#. Watch out for standing water

Driving through standing water is the main cause for hydroplaning which is when you lose traction and skid across the surface of the road. Safely steering around such areas can reduce hydroplaning.
