Electric vehicles have lower tax rates compared to traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.

Bike Tax in Nepal 2082/83

In State 4, the tax rates range from Rs. 2,600 to Rs. 20,000, while in State 5, it’s Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 20,000. State 6 has rates ranging from Rs. 2,500 to Rs. 15,000, and in State 7, the rates are between Rs. 2,500 and Rs. 9,000. For electric vehicles, the tax rates range from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 3,000 depending on the wattage of the bike. The latest bike tax rates in Bagmati Pradesh, Nepal for the fiscal year 2080/81 have been determined based on the engine displacement (CC) of the bikes. For bikes with an engine displacement of up to 125 CC, Bagmati province bike tax rate is set at Rs 3,000. Bikes ranging from 126 CC to 150 CC will have a tax rate of Rs 5,000. For bikes falling within the 151 CC to 225 CC range, the tax rate is Rs 6,500. Similarly, bikes with engine displacements of 226 CC to 400 CC will be subject to a tax rate of Rs 11,000. Those with engine displacements of 401 CC to 650 CC will face a tax rate of Rs 20,000, while bikes with engine displacements exceeding 650 CC will be taxed at a rate of Rs 30,000. These tax rates aim to regulate and generate revenue from the ownership and use of bikes in Bagmati Province.

For the year 2081 in Koshi Province, Nepal, the bike tax (kar in Nepali ) rates have been established based on the engine displacement (CC) of the bikes. Bikes with an engine displacement of up to 125 CC will be subject to a tax rate of Rs 2,800. Bikes falling within the 126 CC to 250 CC range will face a tax rate of Rs 4,500. Similarly, bikes with engine displacements ranging from 251 CC to 400 CC will be taxed at a rate of Rs 9,000. For bikes with engine displacements exceeding 400 CC, the tax rate is set at Rs 16,500. These tax rates have been implemented in Koshi Province to regulate and generate revenue from the ownership and use of bikes in the region.
