TVS Motors to Introduce Electric Motorcycle by 2024

TVS Motors, one of India’s leading manufacturers of two-wheelers, is set to enter the electric vehicle market with a premium offering. The company plans to launch several electric models within the next 18 months, with motor capacities ranging from 5 kW to 25 kW.

The company has not yet revealed any details about the battery specifications for the new electric models. However, it is speculated that the new models will be a motorcycle, as the company’s current electric offering, the iCube scooter, has a 4.4 kW motor.

TVS has a strong reputation in the Indian market, with the iCube scooter being one of the best-selling high-speed scooters. Over 8,000 units of the iCube have been sold in recent months. The company’s new electric offering is expected to be well-received by customers looking for a premium electric two-wheeler option.

In addition to the new electric models, the company is also preparing to launch a new motorcycle with an internal combustion engine (ICE). The CEO of TVS, KN Radhakrishnan, has not yet revealed which specific model will be released.

Overall, TVS Motors is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market with its upcoming models. With a strong track record of producing high-quality two-wheelers, and a commitment to developing sustainable transportation solutions, the company is well-positioned to succeed in this growing market.
