Among various brands of scooters Vespa is one of the most famous and renowned brand in Nepal. With its unique retro look with pleasing pastel color variation this brand has made its own place in market. Recently launched Vespa Elegante 125 and Vespa Notte 125 are one of the toughest competitor for scooters. Through this article let’s compare and know the difference in these two models.
Piaggio manufacturer of Vespa, an Italian luxury scooter brand. In Italian, the name means “wasp.” Vespa has grown from a single model motor scooter produced by Piaggio & Co. S.p.A. of Pontedera, Italy in 1946 to a comprehensive line of scooters and one of Piaggio’s seven companies today. Vespa scooters have been noted for their painted, pressed steel unibody, which combines a complete engine cowling (enclosing the engine system and concealing dirt or oil), a flat floorboard (offering foot protection), and a noticeable front fairing in a cohesive structural unit (providing wind protection).
In Nepal, the scooter market has recently gotten a lot of interest. People were hesitant to acquire a motorbike after the advent of the Aprilia SR 125, TVS Ntorq, and Yamaha Ray ZR since these scooters provide more than simply commuting. In the Nepali market, there are various scooter manufacturers; among them is VESPA, which is known for its vintage classic design.
Although the market is shifting toward more performance-oriented scooters, consumers continue to appreciate the Vespa’s vintage classic beauty. The first thing that springs to mind when we hear the phrase Vespa is Classic Beauty. The Vespa scooters, on the other hand, are stunning, and they are priced far lower than any other scooter in Nepal. Vespa scooters are now available in Nepal in four different versions. Except for two models, the Vespa Elegante and Vespa Notte, each model is divided into two variations based on its engine displacement: 125cc and 150cc.
Brief Introduction of Vespa Elegante 125
The Vespa Elegante is a limited-edition 125cc scooter marketed as a lifestyle accessory. The Elegante, which is based on the now-discontinued Vespa VX, receives a slew of visual upgrades aimed at upping the scooter’s luxury quotient. The Vespa Elegante is distinguished by a luxury front chrome grille, color-coordinated leather seats covered in leather, and a limited edition emblem. Along with the front bumper guard, the Elegante gets a chrome guard kit.
The Elegante, like the rest of the Vespa lineup, is based around a monocoque chassis that holds a 125cc single-cylinder engine. Through a CVT transmission, this engine produces 10bhp and 10Nm of torque. The Vespa Elegante has a dual-effect rear shock absorber and a single-sided hydraulic front suspension. It has a front disc brake with a diameter of 200mm and a rear drum brake with a diameter of 140mm.
Brief Introduction to Vespa Notte 125
The Vespa Notte 125 is a limited-edition scooter with deep black mirrors, grab rails, and wheels. It’s a sleek black version based on the Vespa LX125. The 125cc three-valve single-cylinder engine of the Vespa Notte delivers 9.5PS at 7500rpm and 9.9Nm at 6000rpm. When compared to its elder sister VXL 125, Notte produces the same amount of power. The Vespa Notte’s whole bodywork is finished in matte black.
The VXL is noted for its digital odometer and digital fuel indicator, which the Notte lacks. Regardless, the Analog arrangement looks great on this vintage beauty. The Notte lacks the Front Disc seen in the VXL, but it does include a nice digital clock. The tubeless tyre is not available on the Notte, which is a disadvantage of the scooter. For the Notte, the premium-looking five-spoke alloy wheels are replaced with three-spoke alloy wheels, and we receive 10-inch wheels. The under-seat storage is enough, and the hidden storage in the front is convenient. The tail lights, as well as the clear lens indication, are attractive.
Comparatively both scooters have their own variations. Let’s dive into some more comparison of specification of Vespa Elegante 125 and Vespa Notte 125.
