Aether Energy Rapidly Expands Nepal’s EV Charging Ecosystem

Aether Energy, through its official distributor Vaidya Energy, is making significant strides in bolstering Nepal’s electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. With the demand for electric scooters surging across the nation, the company is proactively expanding its charging network to enhance customer convenience and support the growing EV ecosystem.

Aggressive Expansion Plans Underway

Vaidya Energy has intensified its efforts to build a robust fast-charging infrastructure, aiming to empower EV users for longer and more convenient journeys. Currently, Aether has established 40 fast-charging stations across Nepal. Demonstrating an ambitious growth strategy, the company plans to install an additional 60 charging stations within the next six months, targeting completion by mid-2026.

Salman Khan, Sales Head at Vaidya Energy, confirmed the aggressive target: “Our goal is to reach 100 fast-charging stations by the end of 2026.” He highlighted that construction is actively underway in major cities and key highway corridors across the country. Priority locations for this expansion include prominent cities like Pokhara, Biratnagar, Hetauda, and Birgunj.

Strategic Highway and City Connectivity

The expansion is not limited to urban centers; it strategically targets crucial national highways to facilitate inter-city travel. Key routes benefiting from new Aether charging stations include:

  • Kulekhani-Hetauda
  • Nagdhunga-Mugling
  • Mugling-Pokhara
  • Narayangarh-Hetauda
  • Hetauda-Birgunj
  • Bardibas-Biratnagar

“Consumer interest in electric scooters is growing rapidly in Nepal. Alongside sales, we are prioritizing the development of charging stations, spare parts availability, and servicing,” Khan stated. “Customer convenience is our top priority. We have already established over 40 fast-charging stations nationwide and aim to reach 100 by the end of 2026, with confidence that at least 85 will be operational.”

Building Brand Trust Through Ecosystem Development

Khan emphasized that developing a comprehensive ecosystem is crucial for strengthening the Aether brand in Nepal. By expanding charging accessibility, the company aims to make long-distance EV travel more seamless and stress-free for riders. This approach is particularly noteworthy in the Nepali market, where over three dozen electric scooter brands are available, but only a handful are investing in charging infrastructure. Aether’s commitment to building this ecosystem is fostering significant customer trust and confidence.

Free Charging Offer: A Game Changer Until 2027

Beyond infrastructure development, Aether Energy is offering a compelling incentive: free charging for its customers. According to Sales Head Khan, Aether owners can enjoy complimentary charging at all 40+ existing fast-charging stations across Nepal until 2027. This means riders do not incur any cost for charging their scooters at these Aether network points.

This free charging initiative is designed to further solidify customer loyalty and significantly reduce the total cost of ownership for EV riders. “Aether is leading the way in charging infrastructure development in Nepal, which has become a hallmark of our brand,” Khan added. “Furthermore, we are providing free charging at our stations nationwide to benefit our customers and save them money. This offer extends until 2027.”

Expanding Sales and Service Network

Complementing its charging infrastructure push, Aether Energy is also aggressively expanding its sales and service footprint. The company currently operates over a dozen state-of-the-art showrooms, referred to as ‘Experience Centers,’ across Nepal. These include five centers within the Kathmandu Valley and others in major cities like Pokhara, Chitwan, Itahari, and Butwal.

To ensure reliable after-sales support, Aether has established nine service centers throughout the country, providing accessible and dependable maintenance for its growing customer base.

Market Leadership and Future Outlook

Aether has quickly emerged as one of the top-selling electric scooter brands in Nepal. Since commencing sales in November 2023, the company has sold approximately 4,000 scooters. Currently, Aether offers the popular Ather 450X and Ather Rizta models in the Nepali market.

Conclusion for Nepali Buyers

Aether Energy’s aggressive expansion of its fast-charging network and its commitment to offering free charging until 2027 present a compelling proposition for prospective electric scooter buyers in Nepal. This focus on building a robust charging ecosystem addresses a key concern for EV adoption, making Aether scooters a practical and potentially cost-effective choice, especially for those navigating city commutes and inter-city travel on major highways. With a growing network of showrooms and service centers, Aether is positioning itself as a reliable and forward-thinking option in Nepal’s rapidly evolving electric mobility landscape.
