The first Electric Vehicle was founded by Scottish inventor Robert Anderson, who built a crude electric carriage powered by non-rechargeable batteries in 1830s. Later, in the late 1800s, EV gained popularity in Europe and the USA. In 1890s, affordable Electric Vehicles were begun to manufacture in Companies like Electric Carriage and Wagon Company of Philadephia and the Studebaker Automobile company. At the beginning of the 21st century, the rise of affordable Electric Vehicles had been decreased due to concerns over the pollutions.

1. MG ZS Electric Vehicle

The MG ZS Electric Vehicle was first introduced in 2019 by British automaker MG Motor. It has touchscreen infotainment system, connectivity options, and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

2. Tata Nexon Electric Vehicle

It is the most popular electric vehicle which was first introduced in 2020 by Tata Motors.

There are three different models of Tata Nexon can be found in Nepal and they are:

XM – Base variant priced at Rs. 38,99,000

XZ+ – Mid variant with additional features at Rs. 40,99,000

XZ+ Lux – Top-end variant at Rs. 42,99,000

The XZ+ Lux is the most expensive model as compared to other two models of Tata Nexon. These three models share the similar features including Battery Capacity, Speed, Charging Duration, Touchscreen, and so on. 

3. Hyundai Kona Electric Vehicle

The Hyundai Kona Electric was first introduced in 2018 by Hyundai Motor Company.

  • Charging: Fast charging capabilities, full charge in about an hour
  • Safety: Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)

Kona Electric GL whose price starts at Rs. 61,96,000.

Kona Electric GLS whose price starts at Rs. 64,56,000.

The primary difference between these models is battery size. The Hyundai Electric Vehicle can compete to the Tesla Model 3 and other electric crossovers in terms of features and performance. 

4. Mahindra e20 plus Electric Vehicle

The Mahindra e20 Plus was introduced globally by Mahindra Electric in 2016 and later became introduced in Nepal in 2017.
